Explore

Exploration Ride
Exploration rides are fun rides in a scenic part of San Diego County. Part learning experience, part coffee jaunt, these rides welcome all riders, but are geared for beginners. An introduction to road riding, riding in a group, and a nice morning out with some fun bicyclists; The rides are typically 8-10 miles, flat, and we do it at a pace that encourages talking and interaction. We talk a lot, stop a lot, and usually eat or at least bring doughnuts, while getting information about riding in various situations. Urban Bicycling
Gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic. The course covers bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques and includes a student manual. Recommended for adults and children above age sixteen, this fast-paced, 2 part course prepares cyclists for a full understanding of vehicular cycling.

Part 1 - In Class: Intro to Safe Cycling

Women on Wheels
Women on wheels focuses on giving women the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. The course covers bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques and bicycle mechanics. This class is taught for women and by women. Recommended for women above 13 years of age, this series of courses prepares women for a full understanding of vehicular cycling. Senior Cyclist
Senior Cyclist focuses on giving seniors the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. Light the Night (Luz la Noche)

Bicycle Traffic Skills 201
A continuation of Urban Bicycling, Traffic Skills 201 provides more information about bicycle maintenance and practice of more difficult traffic situations. Bicycle Traffic Skills 201 advances concepts for urban Bicycling for a more elaborate adjustment and maintenance of those bike systems. Where Bicycle Safety in Traffic 101 exposes students to roadway riding on residential streets, collector streets and minor arterials, Bicycle Traffic Skills 201 takes students through more challenging situations such as freeway interchanges and hillier terrain. League Cycling Instructor (LCI)
Certified instructors can teach Bicycle Education classes to children as well as adults. Help bring the joy of safe cycling to others. If you are an experienced cyclist and would like to teach others please consider taking the next step towards certification. Uraban bicycling (Traffic Skills 101) is a prerequisite for a certification seminar.
