BLT Rides (Bike & Learn Together)
A Casual Bike Ride with Traffic Safety Education
Once a month we offer a fun ride in a scenic part of San Diego County. Part learning experience, part coffee jaunt, these rides welcome all riders, but are geared for beginners. If you would like an introduction to road riding, riding in a group or just a nice morning out with some fun bicyclists, this is a ride for you. The rides are typically 8-10 miles, mostly flat on bike paths and lightly traveled roads. We do it at a pace that encourages talking and interaction. We talk a lot, stop a lot, while having fun and getting information about riding in various situations. No one is ever left behind.
Registration isn't required- just show up, ride, and enjoy!

Mission Bay Park Visitor Information Center
2688 E. Mission Bay Dr. (E. Mission Bay Dr. & Clairemont Dr.) San Diego, CA
Now that taxes are done let's relax and take a ride around beautiful Mission
Bay before the tourists invade. This is a very flat ride, almost all of it
on multi-use/bike paths. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bell). Meet at the parking
lot directly North of the Mission Bay Visitor Information Center (use the
Boat Ramp entrance, then turn
left) at 9:00 am for a 9:30 departure. Feel free to invite family, friends,
co-workers, neighbors......anyone who will enjoy a relaxed and informational
ride to improve bike skills and riding confidence.
The Bike and Learn Together (BLT) rides are great for
less experienced riders (although all riders are welcome). BLT rides are on bike paths or lightly
traveled streets, and nobody is left behind. Hosted by San Diego County Bicycle Coalition and lead by League of
American Bicyclists certified cycling instructors (LCIs), BLT rides are a great
way to improve your riding skills.
