directors, was presented in printed form and explained by Jim Baross. It was
received and submitted for audit by a voice vote.
The Membership Director reported a current membership of 1220.
By voice vote, the Board admitted Odale Baker as the representative of the
Major Taylor Cycling Club of San Diego, which is a one hundred percent
club [i.e, all of its members are also SDCBC members].
The Executive Director presented and explained a written proposal for SDCBC
participation in the 2008 Bike to Work Day [5]. The Board approved the
proposal by voice vote.
The Executive Director presented written copies of the October/November
Executive Director's Report [6]. There was some discussion of the Bike

The Newsletter Editor reported the following items:

Dave White reported on Pedal to the Park III, which will be held on
Sunday, May 25, 2008. He noted that this is Memorial Day weekend and during Bike
to Work Month. The ride will partner with Bike to Work Day, and it needs ride
leaders and sweeps. He also noted the possibility of using celebrity cyclists.
The Executive Director reported conferring with Andy Hanshaw on the Bike
the Bay [bike around San Diego Bay] ride, which is on the list for rides on
the Coronado Bridge. It will be held sometime in September 2008.
The Executive Director reported on a meeting earlier today with political
leaders on the 2010 Campaign for Active Transportation, with the object
of making San Diego one of the 40 cities to receive $50 million dollars under
this program.
The Club reports were as follows:
- North County Cycle Club has new jerseys and shorts, and has paid
for helmets to be distributed by police to children riding without helmets.
The club representative also noted that the Mira Mesa Cycling Club has
beautiful orange jerseys.
- San Diego Bicycle Club had a Turkey Ride on Thanksgiving Day and
will have a Toy Ride on December 15. On a club ride, one member crashed after
hitting a pothole on Genesee Ave. near the Scripps Memorial Hospital.
